We were happy to welcome Rescue Readers from Prince of Wales School in Belleville back to our shelter on February 21, 2023. These emerging readers from Ms. Laura Brown-Bowers’ Grade K/1 class read picture books and their own stories to cats, dogs, rabbits and rats at the shelter.

Quinte News took a tour of the new Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward Animal Care and Community Education Centre ahead of its grand opening next Tuesday. Among the new features of the facility include different meet and greet rooms for prospective adoptions, in-kennel access to the outdoors for dogs and an outdoor cat enrichment area.
