Summer Camp FAQs

Where is camp located?
Our Summer Camp is located onsite at the Humane Society at 34 Wallbridge-Loyalist Road in Belleville.
What time does Camp start and end?
Camp hours are 8:45am to 3:45pm with a 15-minute window on either side for drop-off and pickup (8:30am to 4:00pm).
What animals will my child be interacting with at Camp?
Our animal interactions are entirely dependent on the animals we have here at the shelter and their individual personalities. We can't guarantee any specific animal interaction, as we won't be able to predict whether we will have animals in the shelter who will benefit from socialization with kids. The safety and wellbeing of both your child and of our animals are always our top priority!
What should my child bring to Camp?
Every day, your camper should bring the following items with them to camp:
-
A full, reusable water bottle
-
Closed-toe shoes (sandals of any kind are not permitted)
-
Outdoor-appropriate clothing
-
A full lunch and snacks (food is not provided! Please note, while we advise to pack a nut-free lunch, we cannot guarantee a fully nut-free facility)
-
Sunscreen (non-spray only)
-
Any medications needed (please notify staff if your camper is bringing any medication)
-
A bag with the above and anything else they need in it!

Campers should consider leaving at home:
-
Phones, iPods, iPads, gaming devices, cameras or electronic devices. We cannot guarantee the safety of these belongings.
-
Toys or personal belongings that could be misplaced or lost.
I'm struggling financially. Do you have any subsidies available?
For anyone wanting to register for camp but unable to commit financially, we recommend checking out Camps of Hope by the Children's Foundation. This is a funding program that sends payment directly to the organization/program in order to cover children's recreational program costs. Read more at the link below:
