Your charitable gift could support Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward to care for thousands of injured, abandoned and abused animals and educate the public about responsible pet ownership, prevention of abuse and promotion of healthy relationships with companion animals.
Pat Culhane was a devoted City of Belleville councillor and lifelong advocate for animal welfare. Born and raised in Belleville, she dedicated over 50 years as a pediatric and emergency nurse at Belleville General Hospital, where her compassion and generosity profoundly impacted the community. Elected to City Council in 2006, Pat was known for her strong convictions and clear voice advocating for the vulnerable, both people and animals alike.
Her fierce love for animals is honored through the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward’s Legacy Giving Circle bearing her name, ensuring her legacy of caring and advocacy endures. Pat’s life was defined by her unwavering dedication to serving others and championing those without a voice.

Making a gift to The Pat Culhane Legacy Circle is easy. Here’s how:
Ask for Advice
Make sure the decision to give is right for you and discuss your wishes with your family. Ask your financial advisor whether to give a specific amount, a percentage, or the residue of your estate as well as which gift(s) will provide the most tax benefits for your estate: cash, bonds, stocks, mutual funds, a life insurance policy, RRSP, RRIF or personal property.
Talk to Your Lawyer
Instruct your lawyer to add a clause in your Will or add a codicil to your existing Will that establishes your bequest gift to QHS.
