Celebrate the unbreakable bond between people and their pets! The first annual HSHPE Best Friends FUR‑Ever Calendar Contest, presented by West City Honda, invites animal lovers to submit and vote for heart‑warming pet photos for a chance to be featured in HSHPE's 2027 calendar. Every entry and vote supports community animals in need. The contest runs throughout summer 2026 - join the fun, share the love, and help make a difference for your community pets!
The concept is simple:

Pets are entered in the contest by uploading their picture to the contest platform online.

Friends, family and social media audiences are asked to vote.

The top 20 pets with the most votes, win!

1st Place (most votes) - Pet featured on the cover of the BFF Calendar

Professional grooming session
-
Professional photoshoot for the cover picture

5 copies of the calendar to share with family and friends

Featured as 2026 winner on website

2nd - 12th Place - Pet featured on one month of the BFF Calendar

Professional photo of your pet

2 copies of the BFF Calendar to share with family and friends

Social Media feature on corresponding calendar month

Contest Rules:
1. Organizer
The Best Friends Fur-Ever Calendar Photo Contest (the “Contest”) is organized by Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward (HSHPE) and presented by West City Honda
2. Eligibility

The Contest is open to residents of Canada who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

Participants under 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Employees, board members, and immediate family members of HSHPE may enter but are not eligible to win prizes unless otherwise stated.
3. Entry Period
-
The Contest begins on July 1, 2026 at 8 AM and ends on August 31, 2026 at 8 PM EST (the “Entry Period”).

Entries submitted after the Entry Period closes will not be accepted.
4. How to Enter
-
Participants must submit a pet photo through the official GoGoPhotoContest platform associated with HSHPE.

A minimum donation of $20 is required per photo submission.

Photo submission also comes with 5 votes to cast

Each donation counts as one entry. Multiple entries are permitted.
5. Eligible Photos
-
Photos must feature pets only (cats, dogs, or other companion animals).
-
Photos must be appropriate for all audiences.
-
No images containing people, offensive content, watermarks, logos, or copyrighted materials not owned by the entrant will be accepted.

HSHPE reserves the right to remove or disqualify any photo deemed inappropriate or not in keeping with the spirit of the Contest.
6. Photo Ownership & Usage Rights
By submitting a photo, entrants confirm that:

They own the rights to the photo or have permission from the photographer to submit it.

They have obtained consent from any identifiable individuals shown in the photo (if applicable).
Entrants grant Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward a royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual license to use submitted photos for:

Calendar production

Fundraising and promotional materials
-
Social media, website, email, and print use
Photos may be cropped or edited as needed. Credit will be provided where reasonably possible but is not guaranteed. No compensation will be provided for photo use.
7. Voting

Public voting will take place during July 1 - August 31, 2026 via the GoGoPhotoContest platform.

Votes are earned through monetary donations.

HSHPE reserves the right to audit voting activity and disqualify entries associated with fraudulent voting.
8. Winner Selection
-
Calendar winners will be determined based on highest number of votes at the close of voting.
-
HSHPE may reserve additional calendar spots or special features at its discretion.

All decisions made by HSHPE are final.
9. Prizes
-
Winning pets will be featured in the HSHPE Best Friends Fur-Ever Calendar.

Specific placements (cover, featured month, etc.) will be assigned at HSHPE’s discretion unless otherwise stated.

Prizes have no cash value and are non-transferable.
10. Notification
-
Winners will be contacted using the email address provided during entry within 7 days following the end of the Contest.

If a selected winner cannot be reached within 14 days, HSHPE reserves the right to select an alternate entry.
11. Donation Policy

All donations made through the Contest are non-refundable.

Donations directly support the programs and animals at Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward.

CRA donation receipts will be issued where applicable.
12. Limitation of Liability
By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward, GoGoPhotoContest, and their partners from any claims related to participation in the Contest or use of submitted materials.
13. Platform Disclaimer
This Contest is hosted using GoGoPhotoContest but is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by GoGoPhotoContest, Facebook, Instagram, or any other social media platform.
14. Privacy
Personal information collected during the Contest will be used solely for the administration of the Contest and in accordance with HSHPE’s privacy policy.
15. General Conditions
HSHPE reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest at any time for any reason, including technical issues or fraud.
